Google announces ChatGPT AI Rival

Google CEO Sundai Pinchai announced today that they are going to release an AI Service called Bard – the long awaited ChatGPT Rival.

Google has developed an experimental conversational AI service called Bard, which uses the company’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) to answer questions by drawing on information from the web.

The company is also adding the technology behind Bard to the Google search engine to enable complex queries – such as whether the guitar or piano are easier to learn – to be distilled into digestible answers.

Bard will be released to specialist product testers on Monday and will then be made more widely available to the public in the coming weeks, Google says.

The initial release of Bard will feature a smaller, lightweight version of LaMDA which requires less computing power and will allow for more user feedback. As of now they are releasing it to their own employees for testing but it will be released soon to the public.

Google has a history of using AI in its products, such as search, and is now working to integrate its latest AI advancements into its offerings. The aim is to deepen people’s understanding of information and provide them with useful knowledge more efficiently.

Google CEOs said this Monday that in the near future, Google’s AI-powered features in Search will aim to synthesize complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-digest formats, allowing users to quickly understand the big picture and learn more about a topic.
