How to Get Your Website Indexed Prior to Launch?

How to Get Your Website Indexed Prior to Launch

Have you given any thought to the creation of a brand-new website? If this is the case, the first thing you need to do to start getting visitors to your website is to have it indexed on search engines like Google. This will make it easier for people in your target audience to find you when they conduct relevant searches sooner rather than later.

This post will discuss the several benefits of having your website indexed as rapidly as possible, as well as provide a few strategies for achieving this goal.

WHY DOES FAST INDEXING BY GOOGLE MATTER

Getting your website indexed in search engines or on certain pages prior to the formal launch is a smart move for numerous different reasons.

They are as follows:

On the day of your debut, you want to be easily discoverable by PR professionals.

Journalists, bloggers and influencers should learn as soon as possible where to link and which site to promote. (If you have rivals with names that are like yours or non-competitors with domains that are similar to yours, the journalist may link to the incorrect site.)

In order for search engines to bring you new consumers, it is necessary that your website render and index correctly. If you are indexed before the launch, you will have the ability to examine the cache and solve any problems that may arise. (There are certain spiders that will also do this, but if I have the option, I always choose to use the search engine.)

When you invest heavily in advertising to promote a launch, you naturally want the target audience to be able to locate your business without any effort on their part.

To find what they’re looking for, customers will have to go through your homepage or search bar if the new product or category pages aren’t indexed.

It might take weeks for search engines to index a brand new website. The novelty of your business will have long since worn off by then.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR SEARCH ENGINES LIKE GOOGLE TO INDEX A PAGE?

According to the white papers that Google provides for advanced SEO, the crawling process can take anywhere from a couple of  days to several weeks.

John Mueller, a Google Search Advocate, addressed the question of how long it takes to perform SEO on new pages during an Ask Googlebot session.

The investigation by Mueller begins with two caveats: Google does not provide a guarantee that every webpage will be indexed. Even pages that are indexed may not all be displayed to people who do a search.

He goes on to explain that the process of getting a new webpage indexed on the internet can take anything from a few hours to a few weeks. It mainly depends on how long the page is. Within a week, he “suspects” that the majority of relevant information will have been indexed.

The question now is: how can we convince search engines to start indexing our websites?

SUBMIT A REQUEST TO GOOGLE FOR INDEXING

Website proprietors have numerous options available to them through Google Search Console to notice Google about the launch of a new website and ensure that the most critical pages get crawled and indexed within ca couple of hours. You get things rolling by uploading a sitemap and putting together a robots.txt file. No idea how to do so? Check our blog post about how to setup Google Search Console and Google Search Console Best Practices and you are up and running in less than 10 minutes.

Through the use of Google Search Console’s own URL Inspection tool, you can request that Google scans your URLs. The result is a short report whether the website is indexed or not and you can request indexing it immediately. Google mentions that the indexing process can sometimes take a week or two to complete, although we get websites usually indexed within 48 hours these days.

Don’t forget to notify BING

As is the case with Google, Microsoft’s Bing provides website owners with a variety of tools that may be utilized to bring Bing’s attention to their respective websites.

This encompasses the IndexNow protocol they use.

It gives website owners the ability to instantaneously notify search engines of any new information added to their websites. According to the website IndexNow.org, “…because search engines don’t crawl every URL very frequently, it might take anything from a few days to a few weeks for them to find that the material has been updated. Because of IndexNow, search engines are quickly made aware of the ‘URLs that have changed,’ which enables them to prioritize crawling for these URLs and, as a result, limits organic crawling to the point where it cannot find new information”.

Send out a tweet with a link to your brand-new website

Google does its crawling of Twitter at a breakneck speed.

In the Twitter Help Center, it is stated: “Keep in mind that the words you write in your Twitter profile or public Tweets may be indexed by Google and other search engines, and cause your profile or Tweets to come up in a search for those terms.” In other words, you should be aware that the words you write in your Twitter profile or public Tweets may be indexed by Google and other search engines.

2015 was the year that Google started indexing tweets so that they could be displayed in search results.

TIPS AND TRICKS TO ADD TO YOUR SEARCH INDEXATION

  • Duplicate content, site search results, and parameter-based URLs (such as variations) should all be explicitly forbidden in your robots.txt file.
  • A sitemap with just internally-canonicalized URLs is included in robots.txt and in Search Console.
  • After the staging period ends, the meta robots tag now includes the directive “index, follow” to increase indexing and following.
  • There is no extraneous scripting, plugins, tracking tools, etc., in your site’s head, only the necessary metadata and resources to load the page.
  • See how a spider behaves when pretending to be Googlebot or Bingbot and exploring your site. Countless alternatives exist, many of which are costless.
  • You may use Search Console to check the functionality and error-free rendering of “live URLs.”
  • The content itself contains connections to other relevant sections of the site, and these, together with the site’s primary navigation and breadcrumbs, assist search engine crawlers find their way around.

CONCLUSION

Even while requesting indexing and having your launch leaked might be nerve-wracking, ask yourself this question: Would you rather have journalists and customers find your rivals than you and run the risk of losing money and backlinks?

If you do not index your website before the debut of your business, it may be many weeks before potential customers locate you in search engines. Whoever searches for your company’s brand or name has a chance of getting your consumers.
